Persian fest to show European ‘Pari’ in Australia

The Persian Film Festival is to screen ‘Pari’ in Australia.

The 2020 edition of the Persian Film Festival has been set to screen European feature ‘Pari’ in Australia.

Directed by Siamak Etemadi, the 101-minute film will go on the Australian screen on December 12, 2020.

The movie is about Pari. Stunned to discover that her son has vanished while studying abroad in Athens, Pari sets off on a desperate search across the Greek capital to find him.

Navigating a foreign and forbidding landscape, Pari is forced out from the shadow of her spouse to take the lead in the search for her child.

The feature debut from Iranian-Greek director portrays a woman who finds unsuspected depths of courage within herself.

Melika Foroutan, Shahbaz Noshir, Sofia Kokkali, Lena Kitsopoulou, Argyris Padazaras, and Dimitris Xanthopoulos are on the cast list of the movie.

Produced in Greece, France, the Netherlands, and Bulgaria, ‘Pari’ has been screened at global events such as the 2020 Berlinale in Germany and the 2020 Zagreb Film Festival in Croatia.

Inaugurated in 2011, the Persian Film Festival emphasizes the richness of Iranian cinema and Persian-speaking filmmakers around the world.

The Persian-speaking films from directors around the world compete in three categories of Feature Films, Short Films, and Documentaries.

The 2020 edition of the Persian Film Festival is slated for December 3-6.
